THE DESIGN PROCESS
This is the process that is generally followed when we start designing for a client:
After contact is made the first question is the hardest. How much does a website cost?
The problem is that the question is a bit like asking how much does a car cost?
It can vary so much depending on what you are wanting. It may be a small, one
page info site, or a large, complicated website.
Other things affect the price:
Do you have a logo and graphics in electronic format?
Do you already have a design style we can use?
Do you have a clear idea of what you want?
Do you have the text
and photographs ready to send to us or do we have to start from scratch?
So in many ways the price can be reduced by you.
Once we have agreed on a price, you need to send any text, graphic, photographs
that you have.
A good idea is for you to surf around for a while and keep the addresses
of sites you like. Perhaps even one part of a site you like. The more you send
the more we know the style you like so. Without copying any site, we can work
toward your design style. We don't mind if we don't like the websites - it is
your site and you are the one who must like it.
As we begin designing, we show you what we are doing by putting up temp
pages. You can see where we are going with your idea, and perhaps steer us in
a different direction sooner rather than later.
While the site is being built it is a good idea to get your domain name. We
can help you in your choice, as a good name can help with the search engines. We
will then help you register your domain name and guide you through the process.
The domain name is registered at the place that will host your website.
We can advise you on the best hosting company for your particular website, and
the most cost effective package to choose.
Once we have finished, and we have your approval, all that needs to be done is
for us to upload your website, submit it to the search engines,
and voila you have an online website.
And that is all there is to it!
